KBS in Talks With Korean Carriers on DMB Handset Rollout

KBS, the leader of terrestrial DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) in Korea, is negotiating with three major Korean mobile carriers on rolling out T-DMB handsets in mid-December, or no later than March 2006. Among the three carriers, LG Telecom plans to roll out the first T-DMB handset in mid-December 2005. SKT intends to launch T-DMB handsets in late March 2006, after the establishment of its handset subsidy policy. KTF is likely to release T-DMB handsets as late as February 2006.
